Banking can definitely involve an excessive amount of paper, and as a result, paper waste. We here at Straits Area FCU do attempt to reduce paper waste whenever possible, and you as a member can help as well! E-statements are available as an alternative to receiving a paper statement in the mail each month. These also have the advantage of being digitally stored rather than piling up on your table. You can also utilize online banking. Save receipts by transferring online rather than in person with a teller, and pay bills digitally to avoid mailing in checks. Setting up automatic payments on loans can also help, and help you to avoid late fees, etc as well!
- Skip the Trip
Cut down on carbon emissions by making fewer trips in to your local branch. There are quite a few transactions you can do from the comfort of your couch. You can deposit checks remotely through our remote deposit capture system by just taking a picture in our app. Inter-account transactions like transfers and loan payments can also be done online, from an account here or from another financial institution. You can also apply for loans without coming in to a branch, either through online banking or by giving us a call. Whichever way you choose to apply you will still be receiving the same personal service from one of our loan officers.
Straits Area FCU also offers real-time payments though many popular payment platforms like Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, and many more. Payment happens in real time, just as it would if you came into a branch with cash.
